Photo of the Week – The Joy of Travelling

This week's photo is of a group of people enjoying each other's company.

This was taken at the Hindin Han restaurant in Mostar. To me one of the joys of travelling is meeting different people along the way. In this photo there were four Australians, two Germans, an American, Belgian and Frenchman. We were enjoying good food and each other's company. It was a great night.

Photo of the week – Eating ice cream in Split

My apologies for the lack of posts during the past week. I have been too busy enjoying myself on my trip. This week's photo is an ice cream cone that I am about to enjoy.

The flavour is called Jaffa. (Chocolate & Orange) and it tasted delicious.

Until the next post stay safe, stay healthy and keep smiling.

Photo of the Week – Birmingham Central Library

This is the third photo I have posted of the new Birmingham Central Library.

Costing £189m the library was opened on Tuesday by Malala Yousafazi. She was the schoolgirl shot by the Taliban for speaking for education for girls in her native Pakistan. She was treated in Birmingham and her family have made the city their home.

In her speech Malala said “A city without books in a city without a library is like a graveyard.” She also added that books were precious and they were the weapons to beat terrorism. Wise words from one so young.

There are nine floors to the library of which three are closed to the public. There are also two viewing platforms which were proving popular with people enjoying the good weather. This building could become an icon for Birmingham.

Until the next post stay safe, stay healthy and keep smiling.

I did not get to total the twitter figures for August.

As you can see August was a quiet month. However, September is going to be a busier month. After all the planning I will be flying to Split next Monday. For the next three weeks I will be making my way through the Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Slovenia and finishing up in Zagreb. The excitement I am feeling cannot be described. I will keep you updated of my travels with stories and photos.

Until the next post stay safe, stay healthy and keep smiling.
